SUMMARY:Jasper Pulaski F&W Sandhill Crane Viewing with the International Crane Foundation
DESCRIPTION:Join Brittany Mullins and International Crane Foundation (IFC) Whooping Crane Outreach Coordinator Stephanie Schmidt on our annual trip to view the Sandhill Crane migration at Jasper Pulaski Fish and Wildlife Area on November 20 and 21. We’ll be meeting for an evening and morning viewing at the viewing platform at Jasper Pulaski. Come prepared to have all your crane questions answered. \n  \nStephanie will give a free presentation at the Valparaiso Public Library on Wednesday\, November 20 at 1:00 pm (Central Time). You’ll learn about ICF’s work on Sandhill Cranes as well as their efforts over the past two decades to reintroduce the Eastern Migratory Population of Whooping Cranes. \n  \nPlease email Brittany if you are interested in joining ICF at the platform and/or for the presentation by emailing bmullins@savingcranes.org.

SUMMARY:Sandhill Cranes at Jasper-Pulaski
DESCRIPTION:Join ABAS Field Trip Chair\, Chuck Anderson\, for a trip to Jasper-Pulaski Fish & Wildlife Area (FWA).  This will be a great opportunity to view thousands of Sandhill Cranes as they congregate in Goose Pasture before returning to the roosting marshes. There’s always a possibility of spotting a Whooping Crane among the Sandhills. \nWe’ll meet at 4:00 pm at the Sandhill Crane Observation Platform parking lot located on County Rd 1650W\, 1 mile past the park’s headquarters entrance. Follow the very visible signage.  Bring binoculars and spotting scope\, if you have one. This will also be a great opportunity to photograph the birds in flight as they pass over the viewing platform. \nDress appropriately for the weather.  Outhouses are available near the viewing platform. \nThere is no fee for the trip. However\, it is limited to 10 participants\, and registration is required.  Email Chuck at chucka1999@aol.com or text (317) 767-5438 to reserve your spot on the field trip. \nMasks will likely be required during most of the viewing as this is a very popular location for observing the cranes. \nPhoto is courtesy of Chuck Anderson.
