SUMMARY:Bird Safe Indy IU Indianapolis Walkabout
DESCRIPTION:Please join Dr. Victoria Schmalhofer and Bird Safe Indy for an IU Indianapolis campus bird strike Walkabout on Saturday\, November 8 at 8:30 am.  Meet on the south side of Innovation Hall\, on the southeast corner of Michigan and Blackford Streets. Park at designated visitor parking in the Gateway Parking Garage\, accessed from Blackford Street. The walk will last approximately 1-1.5 hours\, covering about 1-1.5 miles.  \nDr. Schmalhofer\, Assistant Director of the Center for Earth and Environmental Science (CEES)\, is a 2024 Birdathon grant winner\, receiving $4\,100 for a project involving students in data collection of bird window strikes on the then IUPUI campus. Fifteen buildings were surveyed over a two-year period documenting around 900 bird strikes.
