Oregon Dark-eyed Junco at Eagle Creek Ornithology Center
An Oregon Dark-eyed Junco has been frequenting their feeders for the past couple of months. This subspecies has a dark hood, a reddish back and light brownish flanks. Be sure to keep an eye out for this cool little bird if you visit the park!

Many Audubon members are aware that the Veterans Administration purchased a 14.75-acre forested tract of land in Crown Hill Cemetery with the intention to develop the site with columbaria to inter the remains of veterans. This tract is the core of an irreplaceable urban forest characterized in 2006 by DNR scientists as “a true high quality remnant of Indiana’s pre-settlement forest
Townsend’s Solitaire in Indiana
Indiana is lucky if one of these rare visitors is found around the lakefront during the winter months. This November, not one but two Townsend's Solitaires have been reported in the state
