Goose Pond Area Raptor Trip
Goose Pond Area - Meet at Kroger 1930 East Main Street, Plainfield, IN, United StatesJoin Scott Enochs as he leads you to Greene County in search of migrating and wintering raptors. Goose Pond, and surrounding areas in Greene County, has become a prime wintering area and migratory stop-over for raptors such as Northern Harrier, Rough-legged Hawk, Merlin, Golden Eagle, and Short-eared Owl. We will spend the afternoon and evening trying to find as many birds of prey as possible. We will remain in the area through sunset in hopes of seeing Short-eared Owls emerge from their daytime roost. The event is free and open to the public. Registration is not required, but is greatly appreciated.

He will take us to the next steps, and show us how to go beyond just taking snapshots to something you might hang on your wall.

2nd Greenfield Birders CBC
Meet at Jack's Donuts 1522 N State St, Greenfield, IN, United StatesJoin the Greenfield Birders for a day birding in and around Greenfield. Don’t worry if you can only come for a couple of hours, or even just watch your feeders from home. All levels of involvement and skill are welcome. Fort Harrison State Park 6000 North Post Rd, Indianapolis, IN, United StatesThe Indianapolis CBC, sponsored by the ABAS, takes place within a 15-mile-diameter circle covering the northeast side of Indianapolis, with the center point being in Fort Harrison State Park. If you are a beginning birder, you will be able to join a group that includes at least one experienced birdwatcher. Eagle Creek Park Ornithology Center 6515 Delong Road, Indianapolis, IN, United StatesThe Eagle Creek Valley Christmas Bird Count, sponsored by ABAS, takes place within a 15-mile-diameter circle covering the northwest side of Indianapolis, with the center being in Eagle Creek Park. If you are a beginning birder, you will be able to join a group that includes at least one experienced birdwatcher. A pitch-in lunch for all participants will be held at the Ornithology Center at noon to tally our bird count. Cool Creek Nature Center 2000-1 East 151st St, Carmel, IN, United StatesCelebrate the holidays by helping the National Audubon Society conduct the 118th annual Christmas Bird Count. Join other bird-watchers for a morning of hiking and birding. Lunch for participants will be provided by the Hamilton County Parks and Recreation Department at the Cool Creek Nature Center.
