SUMMARY:Spring Migrant & Warbler Walk at Eagle Creek Park
DESCRIPTION:Join Amy Hodson at Eagle Creek Park for a spring migrant and warbler walk. Eagle Creek Park is one of the best birding locations in the Indianapolis area\, and provides great habitat for warblers\, vireos\, tanagers and flycatchers. \nThe group will meet at the Eagle Creek Marina at 8:00am. We will move to other locations within the park pending the bird activity that morning. Participants can expect the walk to end around 10:00 am. There is a $5 per car fee to enter the park if you do not hold a year park pass. If we leave the marina\, trails could be muddy. Please wear the appropriate footwear. Registration is not required\, and the event is open to the public.

DESCRIPTION:The Nina Mason Pulliam EcoLab is a wonderful place to bird watch\, with over 165 different species sightings being recorded since 2002. No experience is necessary\, and the hike will be led by one of our very own bird experts at Marian. The only things that are necessary are binoculars and a little bit of patience! \nMeet at the St. Francis statue next to Allison Mansion on the north end of campus at 8 a.m.\, every Wednesday from March 14 to May 2. DESCRIPTION:Join us for an early spring night hike to learn about woodcock\, owls\, and other native Indiana wildlife active in the spring! Come out to the NMP EcoLab to enjoy an evening hike looking for owls\, woodcock\, and to see the handiwork of our resident beaver colony. We’ll start with a hike at dusk\, looking and listening for the elaborate aerial displays and calls of the woodcock that reside in the EcoLab\, do some owl calling\, and look for other signs of early spring wildlife activity. We’ll learn about owl adaptations and the role of owls in the ecosystem\, and will learn some really cool facts about woodcock too. \nAll ages welcome and encouraged! Bring flashlight\, binoculars\, and dress appropriately for the weather since we will be outside. \nParking is available near the Allison Mansion and in the Marian Hall lot across from Allison Mansion. We will meet at the St. Francis statue on the west side of the mansion\, and then head down to the EcoLab shortly after. \nThis event is free and family friendly!
