SUMMARY:Fall Warblers & Migrants – Strawtown Koteewi Park
DESCRIPTION:Join local birder and ABAS field trip leader\, Terry Ballenger\, as we look for migrating fall warblers and resident birds in the 800-acre park. We’ll meet at the Taylor Center of Natural History building parking lot at 8:00 am and bird on foot from there. The terrain is flat and the trails are well defined. The Taylor Center opens at 10:00 am and has modern\, well-maintained restrooms\, as well as great cultural exhibits. \nThere is no fee for the field trip. However\, it is limited to 12 participants\, and registration is required. Priority registration will be given to ABAS local members through August 22\, 2022\, at which time if there are any spots available\, registration will be open to non-members. Email Chuck Anderson at chucka1999@aol.com or text him at (317) 767-5438 to reserve your spot on the field trip. \nPlease remember to dress for the weather\, wear comfortable walking shoes\, and bring any water\, hats\, bug spray\, and sunscreen you need. SUMMARY:Teter Retreat and Organic Farm Field Trip
DESCRIPTION:Join Chuck Anderson\, ABAS President and Field Trip Chair\, as he leads a field trip to Teter Retreat in search of warblers\, other fall migrants and resident birds. Mowed trails wind through woodlands\, prairies\, and along the White River. The landscape is generally flat\, but there are approximately 40 stairs to climb toward the end of the bird hike. Modern restrooms are available. \nThere is no fee for the field trip. However\, it is limited to 12 participants\, and registration is required.
