DESCRIPTION:The Indiana Department of Natural Resources monitors and manages around 50 at-risk bird species\, each of which faces a unique suite of threats.  Allisyn Gillet\, state ornithologist for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources\, will talk about the state’s Peregrine Falcon monitoring program\, focusing on the epic romances between the falcons in downtown Indianapolis. She will describe the lives and legacies of these birds and end with a note on how you can contribute to the conservation of the state’s beautiful avifauna.

DESCRIPTION:Join Brittany Mullins and International Crane Foundation (IFC) Whooping Crane Outreach Coordinator Stephanie Schmidt on our annual trip to view the Sandhill Crane migration at Jasper Pulaski Fish and Wildlife Area on November 20 and 21. We’ll be meeting for an evening and morning viewing at the viewing platform at Jasper Pulaski. Come prepared to have all your crane questions answered. \n  \nStephanie will give a free presentation at the Valparaiso Public Library on Wednesday\, November 20 at 1:00 pm (Central Time). SUMMARY:Fall Birding at Goose Pond
DESCRIPTION:Join ABAS for an afternoon field trip to Goose Pond Fish & Wildlife Area in search of waterfowl\, cranes\, and raptors. Just before dusk\, Short-eared Owls will likely appear. \nMeet at the Goose Pond Visitor’s Center parking lot at 1:00 pm. The majority of the field trip will be by car with multiple stops to get out to view birds. Make sure to bring your binoculars and a spotting scope if you have one. A limited number of binoculars will be available to lend if needed. \nThis field trip is limited to 10 participants and prior registration is required.
