SUMMARY:Birding in Costa Rica
DESCRIPTION:Join distinguished birder and photographer Doug Vine as he relates his experiences from his 2022 trip to Costa Rica. While there he added 236 birds to his life list and observed 30 hummingbird species. His trip was during the COVID-19 pandemic which unexpectedly added to his adventure. SUMMARY:Waterfowl ID Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Learn how to identify all species of waterfowl (ducks\, geese and swans) that have been reported in the state of Indiana. We will be looking at ID by plumage as well as by behavior. Once we finish the presentation we will practice our newfound ID skills out on the Eagle Creek reservoir\, either in the viewing room or by taking a short walk. \n Then if you are able you can join us on the 22nd for a field trip to Goose Pond FWA to put all your new ID skills to the full test. If anyone wants to carpool\, we will be meeting at 7 am the Wal-Mart on County Line Rd. and Emerson in Greenwood\, up front by the grocery entrance. Otherwise\, feel free to meet us in the Goose Pond FWA Visitor Center Parking Lot at 9 AM. We will be birding until 1 pm or until we feel like we’ve covered enough\, whichever comes first.
