It’s your opportunity to celebrate birds by participating in this event sponsored by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Wherever you go on October 8, take a few minutes to observe birds. You don’t need to be a bird expert or go out all day long, even 10 minutes of birding from home counts. Enter your sightings on eBird and submit them no later than October 12 to be included in the results. Last year more than 32,000 people from 195 counties submitted 78,000 checklists with eBird. Let’s see if we can’t help beat last year’s count. Check the ABAS events calendar to see what parks may have a bird hike scheduled for that day.
