By Donna McCarty, ABAS Birdathon Chair

With all the 2022 Birdathon teams reporting in, we have a new first-time winner for the honor of Species Count Champs — the Noddy Little Gulls!

This team has traditionally been in the top three, and 2022 turned out to be its year. Congratulations to team members Lou Anne Barriger, Wendy Kindig, Jeremiah Oden, and Laurie Voss. Not only did the Gulls top the competition, they also reported a species never previously appearing on a Birdathon species list — a Ruff!

Congratulations to all of the Birdathon teams and sincere gratitude to all of their sponsors who have made donations to fund the 2022 Birdathon grants. Online donations can be made at amosbutleraudubon.org/birdathon/birdathon-donation/
