We look forward to another great fundraising year to benefit the birds of Central Indiana thanks to our generous donors. The “Passenger Pigeon Extinction” Indiana State Historical Marker was dedicated in Metamora, Indiana on April 3rd, 2017. The last verified passenger pigeon in the wild was shot about five miles from here near Laurel on April 3, 1902.

An Oregon Dark-eyed Junco has been frequenting their feeders for the past couple of months. This subspecies has a dark hood, a reddish back and light brownish flanks. Be sure to keep an eye out for this cool little bird if you visit the park!

Many Audubon members are aware that the Veterans Administration purchased a 14.75-acre forested tract of land in Crown Hill Cemetery with the intention to develop the site with columbaria to inter the remains of veterans.
