The Indiana Young Birders Club will be holding its fifth annual conference at the Cool Creek Nature Center on Saturday, August 19. The conference will feature speakers from the Indiana Young Birders Club as well as a keynote speaker.
It was a beautiful morning to bird at Brown County State Park on the Amos Butler Audubon Society field trip. A fun group of 29 birders set out to hike some trails and see some birds. Of the 33 species we logged, the highlights were views of Worm-eating Warbler, Kentucky Warbler and Hooded Warbler!
There were plenty of Great Blue Herons to be seen and a wonderful talk by Amanda Smith of Hamilton County Parks and Recreation. It was very interesting to dive deeper into an individual species.
Thanks to the more than 20 people who came out to today's Warbler ID Workshop at Cool Creek Park!
Avid birders are starting to organize in Greenfield, about half an hour east of Indianapolis in Hancock County. See our Event Calendar page for scheduled walks!
We would like to thank everyone who came out to the Beers with Birders event at Ash & Elm Cider Co. last week! 34 birders were there to mingle and share birding stories. We are planning another event like this soon. Stay tuned!
Our friends at the Indiana Raptor Center are hosting their 6th annual Raptor Rendezvous on Sunday November 13th, from 1:00 - 4:30 PM at the Abe Martin Lodge in beautiful Brown County State Park.
Join ABAS President, Rob Ripma, and Treasurer Ted Meyer for an evening out with Chimney Swifts!
The Piping Plover field trip last weekend was a success! It's always nice when the species we set out to see decides to show up for the group! Big thanks to those that spotted the bird and helped to get the ENTIRE group a view!
